An arrest in Fulton County left a man with multiple charges.

Court documents filed on Tuesday say that Deputy Blair Ables arrived at the residence of 37-year-old Jessie Baney, following up on an investigation of some stolen items that were stolen from a nearby property.

Game cameras on the property where the items were stolen from showed a newer Red pickup truck on the property.

A few days later, the camera caught an older Chevy pickup entering the property.

The pickup was identified and matched the description of a vehicle belonging to Baney.

He had an active search warrant on file, and the address he was living at was listed on the waiver and had the same address he had registered at due to being a registered sex offender.

After Ables made contact with Baney, he advised him what Police were looking for and that they would be searching his property for the stolen items.

Baney took him to the air compressor that was reported as stolen, along with one of the game cameras.

He also stated he did not know the items were stolen.

After contacting the owner of the stolen property, he was able to identify all items that were stolen.

The victim claimed the compressor was stolen out of a broken into building after the lock was broken off of the door.

While searching Baney’s residence, Ables located a set of digital scales with white residue and a small baggie containing a white crystalline substance that was believed to be methamphetamine.

After Ables picked up the baggie, he asked what was inside, and Baney grabbed the bag from Ables’s hand and stated he didn’t know it was there or he would have gotten rid of the bag when he heard police announcing themselves at the front door.

He was placed in hand restraints and was transported to the Fulton County Jail.

At a later date, the white crystalline substance produced a positive result for methamphetamine.

Baney is charged with felony possession of drug paraphernalia with purpose of analyzing methamphetamine, felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, felony breaking or entering, and felony theft by receiving – less than $1,000.

His bond was set at $5,000.
