The Izard County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a man on multiple charges.
Court documents filed on Jan. 30 show Arkansas State Police Trooper Blake Johnson observed a grey Jeep Cherokee traveling without a license plate on State Highway 69 in Mount Pleasant.
Trooper Johnson initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and required the female driver to provide documents on the vehicle.
The trooper also requested a vehicle passenger, 44-year-old Robert Davis, to provide identification.
Davis complied with the request and told Trooper Johnson that he had warrants in Independence County, AR.
Trooper Johnson then conducted a frisk of Davis, who disclosed that he had a pipe.
When asked what kind of pipe, Davis said it was used for meth.
He handed a cigarette pack that contained a glass smoking device.
Davis was taken to the Izard County Detention Center in Melbourne.
While processing the evidence, Trooper Johnson discovered a small, folded piece of paper inside the cigarette pack.
The piece of paper contained a white crystalline substance.
A detention officer found a hypodermic needle in Davis’ pocket.
At a later date, the crystalline substance was tested and produced a positive result for methamphetamine.
Davis is charged with felony furnishing a prohibited article, felony possession of methamphetamine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was given no bond.
