In a social media post on Monday evening, the Izard County Office of Emergency Management said they had received multiple reports about a large “boom” or shake in the area.
Callers report the boom shook windows, walls, and some even say the ground moved.
According to information received by the OEM, preliminary information points toward a meteor that had entered into the atmosphere.
No discoveries have been made, and no new information has been released, but we will pass it along when we have an update to this story.
