On Tuesday, the Sloan Hendrix Public School said that a handgun was found in a student’s bag.
The school, located in Imboden, AR, said that a student reported to the school’s resource officer that another student had brought a gun to school.
The school resource officer immediately went into the student’s classroom and searched the student’s bag.
A handgun was found and confiscated without incident.
Law enforcement was notified of the incident, and the student who brought the firearm to school was removed from campus by authorities and will be subject to discipline under the District’s student handbook policy.
