Academic Update
Dr. Greg Carter and Tiffany Young gave the board an update on elementary and secondary curriculum. The update included gratitude to teachers and staff for successful AMI days earlier this month, the Plain Talk National Literacy conference held in New Orleans, the February 18 Teacher-In-Service with Hal Bowman, NAEP, End of Course exams, and spring MAP testing.
Capital Improvements Update
Dr. Davis gave an update on the district’s current improvement projects. The West Plains Elementary HVAC project is near completion. Bids will be opened for the West Plains Elementary FEMA building on Thursday, February 17, at 2:00 p.m. Dr. Davis also updated the board on the new tech building renovation with the work being completed by the SCCC carpentry classes.
Update to the SRCSP
At this time there are no changes to the Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Service Plan (SRCSP). As of February 10, COVID cases for our faculty and staff remain very low. To review the full SRCSP plan, click here.
2022 – 2023 District Calendar
The board reviewed and approved the 2022-2023 district calendar. The calendar is very similar to the current year calendar using corresponding dates. The 2022-2023 calendar can be found online at www.zizzers.org under Parent Resources. It can also be found here.
Summer School 2022 – Summer Journey
The board approved the K-8 curriculum Summer Journey for summer school 2022. Summer school is set for May 31 – June 24, 2022. Registration information will be available soon.
Superintendent’s Report
Dr. Wilson updated the board on House Bill 1814, building level monthly attendance, student enrollment, and also asked each principal to give a building update.
