The Howell County Office of Emergency Management received a grant in earlier January for a mass notifications system for Howell County.

Residents of the county can download the Smart 911 app from the Google Play or App Store and register to receive alerts by texts, email, or phone for emergency notifications.

The service is free, and users may enter any information in the app for 911 call takers to receive in the event you call a participating 911 call center in the US.

All Howell County Landline phones have been registered in the system and may receive an alert call in the event of a large-scale emergency in Howell County.
