The Mammoth Spring Police Department reports the arrest of a man on drug charges.

According to court documents filed within the county, on Feb. 25, Police Chief Jamie Turnbough observed a black Chrysler minivan with a busted tail light lens.

Chief Turnbough stopped the vehicle on Highway 63 at a gas station.

Once Turnbough made contact with 57-year-old James Ambrose, he was asked for his driver’s license.

After running his license, it was revealed that Ambrose’s license was suspended.

Turnbough then approached Ambrose and asked if anything was illegal in the vehicle.

Ambrose replied there was “some meth” under the vehicle’s front seat.

MSPD Officer Darian Walters arrived on the scene to assist Turbough with the stop.

Walters retrieved a tin can with a magnet strip on its back.

Inside the tin was a bag containing a white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine.

Ambrose was then arrested and transported to the Fulton County Jail.

At a later date, the crystalline substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

Ambrose faces a charge of felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.

His bond was set at $5,000.
