The Izard County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a mother and son from Oklahoma on several charges. 44-year-old Jeremiah Dale Bates and 67-year-old Joanne Bates were arrested Wednesday afternoon near Melbourne. The two were wanted in Oklahoma for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Deputies found approximately $15,000 in cash when searching their vehicle. The two were taken to the Izard County Jail.
