The Sharp County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of two people on theft charges.

According to court documents filed within the county on Tuesday, 34-year-old Jarri Platz and 36-year-old Nicholas McCullar pushed a stolen Chevrolet S-10 pickup behind a residence located on US 167 outside of Evening Shade.

After entering a storage shed to find a battery charger for the truck, Platz found a 2021 Dodge Challenger with keys in a detached garage.

The two got into the vehicle with McCullar behind the wheel.

McCullar and Platz took the vehicle to Jonesboro, AR, where law enforcement pursued them through Craighead and Poinsett Counties.

Both suspects were apprehended in Poinsett County after he and Platz attempted to hide the stolen Challenger behind a residence.

McCullar and Platz were arrested on charges for felony theft of property less than $25,000, felony breaking or entering, and misdemeanor theft by receiving more than $1,000.
