The Thayer Police Department’s K-9 Dog “Tank” received a donation of body armor.

According to a social media post, Tank will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from a non-profit organization called “Vested Interest in K-9s”.

The vest is expected to be delivered in eight to ten weeks.

The non-profit is open to US dogs that are at least 20 months old and actively employed and certified with law enforcement or related agencies.

Each vest given is valued at between $1,750 and $2,300.
