
FRIDAY EVENING UPDATE – ECNN has obtained information that a political candidate was injured in the plane crash at the Sharp County Airport on Friday evening.
According to Campaign Spokesman Ethan Barnes, who works for Republican Congressional Candidate Jody Shackelford, he was responsive and appeared to be okay, but his back was injured in the crash.
Barnes stated that when Shackelford was landing the plane, an issue occurred in the engine, causing it to idle.
Shackelford was set to challenge Republican Rick Crawford and State Representative Brandt Smith for the First Congressional District Seat.

5:32pm 3/25/22 – Authorities are responding to a plane crash at the Sharp County Airport near Cherokee Village.
According to the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office, one person on-board the plane was injured and is being treated for his injuries.
The FAA has been called to assist in the investigation of the crash.
