Howell County Sheriff’s Office arrest woman for drug trafficking

The Howell County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a woman on drug trafficking charges. 

According to a release from the Sheriff’s Office, on March 30, authorities conducted a traffic stop near County Road 8690 in Howell County, MO for failure to illuminate a license plate. 

Contact was made with two occupants of the vehicle, and when police raised reasonable suspicion, a K9 was asked to respond to the area. 

Once K-9 Otis arrived on the scene, a positive indication for the odor of narcotics within the vehicle was detected and a probable cause search was conducted. 

As a result of the search, authorities located two bags of suspected methamphetamine weighing 235.6 grams, one bag contained 204 suspected heroin and fentanyl caps weighing approximately 23 grams, and the other held suspected cocaine weighing nearly 13.9 grams. 

A sum of US currency was also found totaling $2,600 located in the vehicle and on the suspect’s person. 

Amanda Jones was arrested for first-degree trafficking of drugs and was transported to the Howell County Sheriff’s Office, where she was booked in. 

Charges have been forwarded to the Howell County Prosecuting Attorney’s office.
