The Izard County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a man on assault charges.

Court documents filed on Monday reveal that on April 1, an investigator with the Sheriff’s Office arrived at a residence located in Calico Rock in an attempt to help authorities with a report of a domestic disturbance.

The investigator arrived on the scene and witnessed a victim speaking to a visibly erratic 33-year-old Antonioth Sanchez.

Sanchez was pacing erratically through the yard and appeared to have substantial injuries due to a large amount of blood covering his body.

Authorities began speaking with Sanchez about the incident.

He explained that he had been attacked by one of his cats and accidentally put his hand through a glass cabinet at his mother’s house that was near the location where authorities were standing.

They then witnessed numerous tire tracks and skid marks in the field next to where they were standing.

When asked, Sanchez explained that the vehicle used was registered to his mother, and the vehicle was damaged moments before authorities arrived due to Sanchez being the one that caused the tracks and skid marks.

Authorities also observed Sanchez being under the influence of an intoxicating substance.

He was taken to the Izard County Medical Center to receive treatment for his injuries.

Police then spoke to the family of the victim about the situation.

It was said that a commotion was heard coming from Sanchez’s mother’s house.

It appeared he was trying to hit the female with the truck.

A relative arrived at the mother’s residence in an attempt to locate her.

As entering the residence, the relative noted the house had been destroyed and stated there was blood throughout the house.

Both the mother and the relative stated that Sanchez is dangerous when he acts in the manner portrayed during the incident.

He is charged with felony aggravated assault – family or household member, felony criminal mischief, misdemeanor domestic battery, and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

His bond was set at $30,000.
