
The Missouri House of Representatives passed a series of bills regarding the state budget Thursday afternoon. Opponents on both sides of the aisle expressed concern for this version of the budget. Some democrats felt more of the surplus should be spent on social service programs. Alternatively, Republican Adam Schwadron fears the $46 billion being spent is just too much entirely.
Upon Senate approval and Governor Parson’s signature, the budget will take effect at the start of the state’s fiscal year on July 1st.
