A woman was arrested by the Texas County Sheriff’s Office on drug trafficking charges.
According to a release, on April 12, a Texas County deputy was patrolling Route VV in the Licking area, when they observed a Chevrolet Equinox commit a traffic violation.
The deputy then initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle.
During contact with the driver, the deputy observed signs of drug use and developed probable cause for a search of the vehicle.
The driver admitted to being in possession of marijuana and methamphetamine, then said she was also distributing drugs.
A search of the vehicle and property led to the discovery of marijuana and a quantity of methamphetamine weighing less than 30 grams, but was packaged for distribution.
The suspect was identified as 52-year-old Jettie Venker of Licking, MO, and faces charges of second-degree trafficking of drugs, delivery of a controlled substance, and other misdemeanor offenses.
Venker is held in the Texas County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
