According to court documents filed on Tuesday, on April 13, authorities were dispatched to a store on Highway 56 near Violet Hill for a reported altercation.

Once authorities arrived on the scene, a 16-year-old male victim stated that 41-year-old Jerrell Hightower had physically assaulted him by choking and threatening him.

Hightower later stated in an interview that the 16-year-old had passed him on the roadway and impacted his vehicle.
