On Thursday the Missouri House of Representatives passed a bill that would provide taxpayers with a tax credit based on the 2021 tax filing year. The credit would clear the balance of what Missourians owe on their state income tax up to 500 dollars per person. Individuals who do not owe any state income tax will not be eligible for the credit. House Democrats opposed this bill for this very reason. Republican Shamed Dogan thinks differently.
Representatives Peter Merideth and LaKeySha Bosley both pointed out the money would not go to everyone, especially the Missourians who needed it most.
