The Izard County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man for failure to register charges.

According to court documents filed on Friday, on April 21, the Sheriff’s Office, along with Arkansas Community Corrections, conducted a sex offender compliance check at the residence of 52-year-old Timothy Kent.

Kent allowed law enforcement to search his property.

During the search, authorities found a .22 caliber firearm inside the residence, and it was also found that Kent failed to register two vehicles on his property, which he had access to drive.

In an interview with Kent, he stated he did not want to answer any questions, but while an investigator was walking Kent back to the detention facility, he confessed to possessing the firearm in his home.

The investigator stated multiple times that he was not asking questions, but Kent continued to make statements.

Kent is charged with felony failure to comply with registration and reporting requirements and felony possession of firearms by certain persons.

His bond was set at $15,000.
