The Missouri Department of Conservation is urging tourists across the state to be on the lookout for black bears.

Black Bear Biologist Nate Bowersock with MDC says tourists must remember a few tips when encountering a black bear.

Litter and food waste could attract a black bear, and Bowersock says keeping areas clean is the best way not to encounter a bear.

MDC accepts reports of black bear sightings across the state.
