
A law heard in a Missouri House Committee would allow the parents of children with seizures to provide recommendations to the school nurse that would accommodate the child’s needs.
During the bill’s hearing, many witnesses had personal testimonies about their experience with the lack of seizure awareness and training in schools. Holly Brady is the president of the Purple Peace Foundation, which raises awareness about epilepsy. Her experience both as an elementary teacher and a mother of a victim of seizures inspired her to support this bill.
The law continues in the Missouri House.
