
The Thayer Police Department reports the arrest of a man for leaving the scene of an accident.
According to a press release from the department, on April 21, the Thayer Police Department received a call from the 700 block of Nettleton Avenue.
The caller informed dispatch that they had heard a loud crash and a vehicle speeding away.
On scene, officers discovered that a resident’s vehicle that was parked in their driveway was struck, and the suspect vehicle had left the scene.
After gathering information, officers with the Thayer Police Department conducted interviews of suspects in the matter.
A probable cause statement was submitted to the Oregon County Prosecutor’s Office for formal charges against 32-year-old Robert Dyer of Thayer.
Dyer faces charges for felony leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage exceeding $1,000, misdemeanor operating a vehicle in a careless imprudent manner involving an accident, misdemeanor failure to register a motor vehicle, and misdemeanor operating a vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility.
Dyer turned himself in to authorities in Howell County.
His bond was set at $15,000.
