
A crash in West Plains caused delays on Thursday morning.
According to the West Plains Police Department, at 7:49 am, authorities were dispatched to a traffic crash.
The caller said two vehicles had crashed, and some parties involved were injured and trapped inside their vehicle.
Witnesses told Police the crash happened on US Highway 63 and Bill Virdon Blvd.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a Chrysler Pacifica with front-end damage stopped in the intersection facing northwest.
The other vehicle, a Toyota truck, had severe damage to the driver and passenger side door areas and was resting against the traffic light pole on the northwest side of the intersection.
The 48-year-old female driver of the Crystler said she was traveling westbound on Highway 63 and struck the passenger side of the Toyota truck, which was making a left-hand turn from Highway 63 onto Bill Virdon Blvd.
The 18-year-old male driver of the Toyota was injured in the crash and was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment.
The West Plains Fire Department had to extricate a 13-year-old and seven-year-old from the Toyota due to the damage to the vehicle. The two juveniles were taken to an area hospital for moderate to severe injuries.
The driver of the Chrysler declined medical treatment.
Multiple witnesses that were at the intersection when the crash happened said the Chrysler failed to stop for the red traffic signal and crashed into the Toyota.
