The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man after a chase through the county.

According to a release from the department, multiple calls were received regarding a reckless driver on a motorcycle near Goodhope, MO.

Authorities located the motorcycle near the Plainview School District and attempted to make a traffic stop.

The motorcycle immediately fled, reaching speeds of over 100 miles per hour.

Multiple other officers joined the pursuit, which lasted over 48 miles, and ended in Ozark County near Gainesville, MO.

38-year-old Anthony Kutchko of Taneyville was arrested and taken to the Douglas County Jail.

Kutchko was wanted on parole and probation for domestic assault and possession of a controlled substance.

During the incident, Deputy Shawn Wilson sustained an injury to his knee and sought medical attention.

X-rays showed a fracture to his knee cap, and he was later released from the hospital on crutches pending further treatment.

A warrant was issued for Jutchko for felony resisting arrest by fleeing, causing substantial risk of injury, driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving, no insurance, no valid driver’s license, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

His bond was set at $25,000 cash only.

Additional charges are coming for Kutchko relating to the injury of the Deputy.

Sheriff Chris Degase said that Kutchko commented, “I thought I could just take off and outrun him. You guys are ruthless.”

In a statement, Sheriff Degase said, “Mr. Kutchko put numerous people’s lives in danger last night and I will do everything I can to make sure he is locked up for a long time. It is obvious he is not a good candidate for Probation, and for anyone to say anything different is an insult to these Deputies who put their lives on the line.”‘
