The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a man on escape charges.
Court documents filed on May 5 show that on April 11, deputies responded to Long Run Road regarding a possible motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, authorities found the road was blocked entirely.
A male, identified as 32-year-old Jacob Sims, was inside his vehicle, saying it was “stuck.”
After running Sims through the criminal database, it was found he had a warrant out of Oregon County.
Sims was taken into custody, and on the way to the Fulton County Jail, the deputy was called to help with another arrest.
While the deputy had been away from his vehicle for a matter of 2-3 minutes and returned, he found a window rolled down and Sims no longer being inside.
It was also later learned Sim’s warrant was a felony, and he was also on probation.
Sims is charged with felony third-degree escape.
He was given no bond.
