The Fulton County Sheriff’s Department reports the arrest of a man on drug charges.

According to court documents filed on April 25, in late April, a traffic stop was conducted on 43-year-old Steven Hamilton for a traffic violation.

Hamilton was observed to be very nervous and shaking.

While he was pulling over, Deputy Blair Ables noticed him moving around frantically in the driver’s seat.

After asking him why he was highly nervous, Hamilton commented, “I’m going to jail. I know I’m going to jail.”

After running Hamilton through the criminal database, it was discovered he was on active supervision and had a search waiver on file.

When a deputy returned to the vehicle, Hamilton became even more nervous, and when asked again why he was nervous, he stated it was because “there is a lot of dope in here.”

After being asked to exit the vehicle multiple times, he finally complied with the request.

A vehicle search revealed a black box in the passenger floorboard with a large bag of white crystalline substance, a set of digital scales with residue, a spoon, a needle, and one individually bagged small amount of a crystalline substance, known to be methamphetamine.

Hamilton was placed under arrest, and as the deputy was putting him in the patrol car, he physically resisted him multiple times.

Mammoth Spring Police Chief Jamie Turnbough was at the stop and had to assist Deputy Ables in placing him in the patrol vehicle.

He is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine with the purpose to deliver and felony possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to analyze.

His bond was set at $15,000.
