WEST PLAINS, Mo. – Missouri State University-West Plains (MSU-WP) Grizzly Basketball Head Coach Jared Phay today announced the signing of two more players for the upcoming season.

They are Rashad Weekly-McDaniels of St. Louis and Jamaree Sellers of Poplar Bluff.

Weekly-McDaniels is a 6-foot, 1-inch combo guard who is transferring from Region 16 foe Moberly Area Community College. McDaniels played sparingly on this past season’s 28-7 Greyhound squad, which reached the second round of the NJCAA Division I Men’s National Basketball Championship Tournament.

Prior to his year at Moberly, Weekly-McDaniels played one season at Central Michigan University, an NCAA Division I program.

“We are excited to add Rashad. He has a lot of talent and experience,” Phay said. “I expect he will be one of our leaders on and off the court.”

Weekly-McDaniels graduated from Trinity Catholic High School in St. Louis where he averaged 16.5 points and 4.4 assists per game.

Sellers ia a 6-foot, 4-inch athletic wing who graduated in 2020 from Poplar Bluff High School. He played this past season at SEMO Prep in Cape Girardeau.

“Jamaree has had a tough time getting an opportunity to play in college and I think COVID played a big part in that, but he is very athletic and I think he will surprise people,” Phay said.

The coach also pointed out that Sellers is originally from Springfield and grew up around current Grizzly Sam Koban.
