Howell County Sheriff’s Office arrests man, recovers stolen property

The Howell County Sheriff’s Office reports the recovery of stolen property. 

A release from the department says at 7:45 on May 17, a deputy received a report of property damage at a location on County Road 6920. 

Authorities responded to the scene and observed a badly damaged farm gate. 

Closer investigation revealed the gate had been damaged by a vehicle crashing into it. 

Further investigation and a canvass of the area revealed a possible suspect and information the suspect was driving a pickup that was recently reported stolen from West Plains.
Acting on information obtained during the course of the investigation, Deputies located and recovered the stolen vehicle. 

The vehicle was a 1990 Ford F-150. 

The vehicle was located at the property known formerly as Mobile City and was concealed in an area of dense foliage. 

The pickup had been reported stolen from a residence in the City of West Plains on May 16. 

Deputies also arrested a suspect close to the stolen vehicle. 

The man was identified as Brad Davis of West Plains. 

He was placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of formal charges for stealing and wrecking the motor vehicle. 

A probable cause statement has been forwarded to the Howell County Prosecutor’s Office.
