The North Arkansas Electric Cooperative has been hard at work since Saturday evening trying to restore power to thousands of their customers.
Severe weather with high winds and hail moved into Sharp, Izard, and Baxter Counties.
Multiple polls were broken, and numerous lines were snapped due to the storm.
At the beginning of the storms, almost 8,000 were without power.
Cooperative CEO Mel Coleman spoke to me about the power restoration efforts, and he says his crews remain hard at work.
Coleman says he had two crews respond on Saturday evening from Arkansas Electric Cooperatives.
Finally, Coleman says he’s thankful for his staff’s hard work and long hours to restore power to members.
For those who may have been without power for an extended period, the cooperative published tips from the USDA regarding food storage during an outage.
