
A crash in West Plains, MO on Wednesday afternoon claimed the life of three individuals.

According to a release from the West Plains Police Department, on May 25 at 1:21 pm, officers were dispatched for a multi-vehicle traffic crash in the area of US Highway 63 and State Route 17 in West Plains.
The caller advised a semi-truck and trailer had collided with a car.
The officers that arrived on the scene found the semi-truck and trailer overturned onto a car and an SUV with heavy damage in the intersection.
It was later learned the semi was traveling northbound on Highway 63 and struck the SUV at the intersection of 63 and Route 17.
The semi then overturned onto the car, which was traveling southbound on Highway 63.
The occupants of the semi had no visible injuries.
Two occupants of the SUV were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their minor to moderate injuries.
One of the car’s occupants was transported in critical condition to a hospital in Springfield.
Three other occupants of the car were fatalities.
The crash caused delays in the area for multiple hours on Wednesday afternoon.
The case is still under investigation.
