The Arkansas State Police announced a Lawrence County, AR officer has received a promotion.
47-year-old Corporal Phillip Roark of Lawrence County was promoted to the rank of sergeant and will be assigned to the Highway Patrol Division in Troop B.
According to a press release, State Police Director Colonel Bill Bryant made the recommendation for the promotion.
The new position will also have post supervisor duties.
Sergeant Roark, a 21-year veteran of the department, had previously been assigned to highway patrol duties in Jackson County.
