The Howell County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man for stealing a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.

According to a release from the department, on June 1, a deputy received a report of property damage and stealing at West Plains Marine.

The deputy responded to the scene and observed a section of badly damaged chain link fencing.

An Arctic Cat Utility Vehicle had been used to damage the fencing and was left upside down on the scene.

Closer investigation revealed another Arctic Cat Utility Vehicle had been stolen.

They then canvased the area and revealed a possible suspect.

On June 2, another deputy had received a report that an Arctic Cat Utility Vehicle had been located.

The deputy responded to the scene and located the stolen utility vehicle.

The item was processed and returned to the owner.

On that same day, authorities received a report of a stolen vehicle at Henry’s RV Park within close proximity of the UTVs.

After deputies arrived on the scene, it was determined that a 2001 Toyota Avalon had been stolen.

After obtaining suspect and vehicle information, an investigation began into the location of the suspect and the stolen vehicle.

Acting on information obtained during the investigation, authorities located the stolen vehicle near State Route 181 in Douglas County.

A lengthy pursuit ensued in Douglas and Howell County, ending at the Siloam Springs Cemetary on County Road 5730 in Howell County.

After the pursuit, Brad Davis of West Plains was arrested on an active arrest warrant and was placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of formal charges for stealing a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, and property damage.
