Man arrested on battery charges in Fulton County

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man on battery charges.

According to court documents filed on June 2, on May 31, authorities were dispatched to on residence on Highway 62 near Moko for a domestic violence call.

Dispatch stated the suspect on the scene was identified as 55-year-old Layne Allen Johnson.

He had allegedly strangled a victim with an electric cord.
Upon arrival, police placed Allen into custody.

In an interview with the victim, they stated they were sleeping in a bed inside the residence when Allen came into the bedroom, ripped the victim’s clothes off them, and threw them into a bedroom mirror, where they stated they cut their head.

After doing that, he told the victim they would die.

He then hit them with a sharp object, and they fell on their stomach.

While on the ground, Allen choked them with a cord to the point where they blacked out.

The victim had wounds on their forehead, neck, and left calf.

Allen is charged with felony second-degree domestic battery.
His bond was set at $10,000.
