The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a man on burglary charges.
According to court documents filed on June 7, on May 30, a victim reported to authorities that his firearms had been taken from his residence inside the city limits of Gepp, AR.
On May 29, the victim was locking up the residence, and the guns were in the kitchen.
On May 30, he returned around 9 am but did not notice if they were there or not.
He then left the residence around 11 am when his wife arrived with their grandchildren.
The couple had hired painters for a task on the property.
The wife walked in on one of the painters, identified as 41-year-old Joseph Young, near the washer and dryer, putting on a shirt.
When Young saw the wife, he stated, “you caught me.”
The wife said she did not think anything of it other than why he was there when none of the painters were supposed to be.
Thehusband then returned to the home later that afternoon to discover the guns were not there.
The project manager was notified and told Young he was no longer needed on the job.
Young was arrested and will face charges of felony residential burglary, felony theft of property, and being a habitual offender.
His bond was set at $25,000.
