An arrest in Fulton County left a man with assault charges.
Court documents filed on June 7 show on May 27 that authorities were dispatched to an ongoing altercation on Nine Mile Ridge Road.
Dispatch advised they received a call from a witness to the incident.
The witness said they heard a cry for help in a woman’s voice.
They stated they ran to where the scream was coming from and found a man and a woman in a physical altercation in the roadway.
When authorities arrived on the scene, they found the victim was standing against a pickup truck holding an ice pack on her lip.
While speaking with the victim, they stated their ex-boyfriend bit her lower lip.
Due to the severity of the bite, authorities called emergency medical services to check them out.
According to the victim, the two were having a civil conversation before some “unwanted words” were spoken and made the boyfriend, identified as 31-year-old Deonte Scott, very angry.
Scott reportedly began bashing the victim’s head on the back of his four-wheeler and then threw her in the water twice.
The victim also said that she went unconscious at one point and woke up in the water.
They had believed that Scott was going to kill them.
Scott will face charges for felony aggravated assault and being a habitual offender.
His bond was set at $25,000.
