
A wanted fugitive was arrested in Douglas County in late May.
According to a release, on May 22 law enforcement received information about a fugitive in Douglas County who had an active probation and parole warrant.
Deputies located the suspect vehicle just east of the square in Ava, where a traffic stop was initiated.
The suspect fled in the vehicle across the square, where he stopped, stood in front of city hall, then fled on foot.
He then threw a handgun that was in his possession.
Authorities then apprehended the wanted fugitive, identified to be 24-year-old Jake Olsen of Ava, MO.
Olsen was found in possession of methamphetamine at the time of his arrest.
He had been convicted of a prior felony prohibiting him from possessing firearms.
Another suspect, 20-year-old Natalie Olsen of Bruner, MO was also arrested at that time.
She was later released after being cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Jake was placed on a 24-hour hold, and a warrant was later issued for his arrest for unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and resisting or interfering with a felony arrest.
His bond was set at $15,000 cash only with twice-weekly drug testing, no access to firearms or ammo, no illegal substances, and GPS monitoring.
