
The Izard County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a man on drug charges.
Court documents filed on June 9 show on June 7, a County Investigator performed a traffic stop on 57-year-old Tommy L Franks due to the investigator knowing Franks had an active warrant out for his arrest.
During the traffic stop, it was noted that Franks’ eyes were very bloodshot and watery, plus he was sweating.
After investigation, Franks admitted to smoking meth four hours prior to the traffic stop.
He was almost placed into hand restraints when he threw a black magnet into the back of his vehicle.
That magnet was revealed to contain a white crystalline substance, which later tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.
Franks will face charges for felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and felony possession of drug paraphernalia – methamphetamine.
His bond was set at $20,000.
