Two Shannon County residents were seriously injured in one-vehicle accident west of Birch Tree Tuesday afternoon. The Highway Patrol reports that 26-year-old Aaron Hardwick of Winona and 54-year-old Richard Drummond of Birch Tree were both injured when Drummond ran off the road and hit a fence, a tree stump, and a tree. Both men were flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield with serious injuries. The accident happened on highway M about two miles west of Birch Tree.
