A generous donation will help local law enforcement in Douglas and Ozark Counties. Chad Hazelton who grew up in Douglas County has donated $70,000 worth of guns and tactical gear. The donation includes a sniper rifle, a couple of .50 caliber rifles, a gun safe, a flamethrower, night vision scopes, desert eagle pistols, and a 1972 Suburban. The vehicle will be used by the multi-jurisdictional task force.
Hazelton said all this equipment was a hobby, and it seemed like the right time to put it to good use.
Some of the gear will go up for sale to help upgrade the Douglas County 911 system.
An auction is expected to be held in about a month.
