A judge has denied a request for a continuance in the trial of a man accused of killing two Sharp County residents and his girlfriend and burying their bodies in shallow graves in Oklahoma. The Attorney for 61-year-old Robert Edwin Lewis, formally from Hardy Arkansas, had asked for a continuance to allow an expert to evaluate Lewis’ competency. Lewis is accused of killing 43-year-old Quinly Lamb and 51-year-old Brian Shackleford both of Sharp County and 36-year-old DeAnna Tipley. He allegedly confessed to the murders but has pleaded not guilty to three counts of murder. A preliminary hearing has been set for October 3, at 9 a.m.
