A Mountain Grove woman suffered serious injuries in a motorcycle accident Tuesday evening in Douglas County. The Highway Patrol says that 47-year-old Traci Taylor was injured when the motorcycle driven by 59-year-old Rodney Vogt of Mountain Grove traveled off the road and overturned. Taylor was flown to Cox South in Springfield. The accident happened on Highway EE, five miles northeast of Vanzant.
A Mountain View woman was seriously injured in an accident Tuesday morning. 86-year-old Mavis Aye was injured when a vehicle driven by 45-year-old David West of West Plains failed to yield and hit the vehicle driven by Aye. Aye was taken to Mercy Hospital. West was arrested on a West Plains PD warrant for failure to appear, failure to yield to an oncoming vehicle, failure to maintain financial responsibility, and no seat belt. The accident happened at the intersection of county roads 3380 and 1990 in Howell County.
Four people were injured in two-vehicle accident west of Houston Tuesday morning. The Highway Patrol reports that 57-year-old Oscar Smith of Bucyrus suffered serious injuries, 24-year-old Tyler Russell of Success suffered moderate injuries and 40-year-old Dustin Flinn and 52-year-old Harvey Sullins both of Success both suffered minor injuries when Smith turned into the path of the vehicle driven by Sullins. Flinn and Russell were passengers in the Sullins vehicle. All four were taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital. The accident happened at the intersection of Highways 17 and 38, six miles west of Houston.
Three people were injured in an accident south of Mountain Home. According to police reports, 45-year-old Connie Wheeler of Henderson hit the rear of a pickup driven by 68-year-old Oscar Thompson of Calico Rock. Thompson and his wife 65-year-old Oldopal Thompson and Wheeler were all taken to Baxter Health in Mountain Home. The accident happened on Highway 5, south of Mountain Home.
