
A Stone County man was arrested in Mountain View Arkansas after fighting with officers. A welfare check was done on 61-year-old Edward Joseph Walker who was reportedly slumped over his vehicle in a parking lot. When officers made contact with him he was allegedly irritated and confused. Officers tried to conduct a field sobriety test but Walker refused and attempted to hit an officer and tried to elbow them in the chest. Walker was tased. Several bottles of drugs were found in his vehicle. Walker is charged with two counts of second-degree battery, refusal to submit to arrest, and disorderly conduct. His criminal history shows battery on law enforcement officers in South Carolina in at least four instances dating back to 2018. He is being held in the Stone County Detention Center on a $25,000 bond.
