An Izard County woman has been arrested for attempting to bring a controlled substance into the prison in Calico Rock. 43-year-old Angela Gwen Knight was at the prison facility for visitation when she failed to pass through the metal detector and was taken to a designated area for further examination. During the search, law enforcement discovered a cellophane baggie containing one and a half white pills believed to be hydrocodone.
Knight is charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance and furnishing, possessing, or using prohibited articles and is currently being held at the Izard County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
