An Independence County man who was convicted on 61 counts of rape is applying for clemency. 72-year-old Ralph Douthitt is scheduled to have a hearing on January 12th. He was sentenced in 1995 to 174 years in prison. When he was arrested police searched his home and found several photos along with a handwritten diary corroborating a victim’s testimony, and a two-way mirror from a bedroom that allowed viewing into the bathroom.
