
The first weekend of the firearms deer season in Missouri was a good one, with hunters harvesting more than 93,000 deer. Locally, Texas County hunters killed 1,725 which was the second most in the state behind only Franklin County. Howell County hunters took 1,294 deer, Douglas County 1,182 deer, Wright County 1,058, Shannon County 1,046, Oregon County 887, Ripley County 870, Ozark County 714, and Carter County 534. The season runs through Tuesday November 22nd.
