The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department is reporting several arrests

During the early morning hours of November 17, 2022, the MJTF Multi-Jurisdiction Task Force served a search warrant on N Highway for fugitive Anthony McCord age 51 of Ava. McCord had an active warrant for his arrest out of Douglas County for Probation Violation for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Felon in Possession of a firearm from a search warrant served on McCord in 2018 by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

McCord will be facing additional charges related to an incident that occurred on October 29, 2022, where he was in pursuit of a stolen dirt bike with Douglas County Deputies. McCord evaded apprehension by fleeing into the woods on the stolen dirt bike then fled on foot.
McCord is being held without bond.

On the evening of November 14, 2022, the Multi-Jurisdiction Task Force was preparing to serve a narcotics search warrant on W. 14 Hwy. Prior to the team arriving, the target of the search warrant Vincent Adkins age 43 of Ava left in a Chevy pickup. Sheriff Degase observed the vehicle on O Highway and later made a traffic stop on the vehicle at O and T Highway. A consent search of the vehicle resulted in approximately 91 grams of methamphetamine being seized from the vehicle.

A warrant was subsequently issued for Vincent Adkins for Trafficking a Controlled Substance 1st degree with the bond being set at $50,000 cash only.

Adkins was a prior offender and at the time of his arrest, he was out of prison on Parole. Adkins has been a major distributor of illegal narcotics since his release from prison in August of 2022.

 

On November 2, 2022, a Douglas County Grand jury indicted William Wolfe age 56 of Ava for the September 2020 murder of Clarence Clark aka Bob Clark.
Wolfe was indicted for Murder 1st degree, armed criminal action, Abandonment of a corpse, tampering with a motor vehicle, 5 counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, and felony resisting arrest. Wolfe’s bond was set at $250,000 cash only.
The Murder was investigated by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Degase advises that nearly every Deputy in his office assisted with this case.
At the time of Wolfe’s arrests on September 27, 2020 Wolfe was currently on parole for Delivery of a controlled substance a case that was worked by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in February 2019. Wolfe was returned to the Department of Corrections for violating his terms of Parole pending these formal charges.

On November 13, 2022, at 0112 hours, Deputy Box and Deputy Evans responded to CR104 for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, they contacted Nicholas Hardin age 42 of West Plains. The contact led deputies to believe there were illegal narcotics in the vehicle. Nicholas believed he was on Caney Mountain Road in Ozark County. The investigation resulted in Deputies seizing syringes and a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.
A warrant was issued for Nicholas for Possession of Methamphetamine and possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The bond was set at $1500 cash only. Hardin has since posted a bond.

On November 3, 2022, Deputy Sam Evans arrested Michael Brooke age 35 of Grovesprings at the Roadside Park on North 5 Highway at approximately 1726 hours. It was discovered that Brooke had an active warrant for his arrest out of Wright County for failure to appear. A search of the vehicle revealed a concealed handgun. A search of Brooke’s person revealed he was in possession of methamphetamine. A warrant was later issued for Brooke for possession of the controlled substance methamphetamine and Unlawful use of a Weapon while in possession of a controlled substance. The bond was set at $1500 cash.
