The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department reports the arrest of two people after a traffic stop Tuesday

On Tuesday, December 13, 2022, Deputy Box took a report of a stolen vehicle on east 14 Highway. Later in the day, Detective Long observed the vehicle traveling east on E. 14 Highway. Deputy Box and Sheriff Degase located the vehicle on E. 14 Highway and were able to get the vehicle stopped. The occupants did not know the vehicle was stolen and had borrowed the vehicle from Sherman Hall and Laura Ramsey both of Ava.

Later Deputy Box, Deputy Dering, and Deputy D. Martin located Sherman and Hall and arrested them, and placed both on a 24-hour hold.

A warrant was issued for Sherman Hall age 21 of Ava for Tampering with a motor vehicle, property damage, and resisting interfering with arrest for a felony his bond was set at $10,000 cash only. Hall also had a P&P warrant at the time of his arrest.

A warrant was issued for Laura Ramsey age 39 of Ava for Tampering with a motor vehicle, property damage, and hindering prosecution of a felony her bond was also set at $10,000 cash only.
