
The Highway Patrol reports that 38-year-old William Pankey hit a tree and overturned the truck he was driving, ejecting two teenage boys. A 16-year-old and a 13-year-old both suffered minor injuries and were taken to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains. Pankey was charged with DWI, careless and imprudent driving involving a crash, no seat belt, no insurance, failure to secure a child less than 16 years old in a seatbelt, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was taken to the Oregon County jail and placed on a 24-hour hold. The accident happened on county road 127, five and a half miles northeast of Alton.
