The Arkansas State Police say that 69-year-old Terry Engles of Mount Pleasant was killed and 32-year-old Patrick Thorburn of Melbourne was injured when the pickup that Engles was driving, crossed the center line and hit the pickup that Thorburn was driving. The accident happened on Highway 69 in rural Independence County, Saturday morning around 7:45. Thorburn was taken to UAMS in Little Rock.
