According to reports, 37-year-old Jason Southerland took five vehicles from a property in the county and then took them to Rone’s Salvage. The Sheriff’s Office spoke to the owner of the Salvage yard and said that he had titles to four of the five vehicles. He said he traded the running vehicle for the five. The Owner of the Salvage yard said that Southerland told him he had purchased the vehicles from the deceased owner’s son, which was proven to be false. Southerland has been charged with felony residential burglary and felony theft of a vehicle. He was also charged as a habitual offender. His bond was set at $25,000.
