The Hardy City Council has voted to raise the A & P Commission HMR tax to 3 %. The current tax is at 1.875 %. The new rate will take effect on May 1st. The HMR tax is collected from hotels, motels, and restaurants. The Council says that they passed the tax increase due to the growth not only in the city but also in the county.
